Robert Seyfert is Academic Council (Assistant Professor) at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He works at the interface of cultural sociology and science, technology and society (STS). His research focuses on digital cultures and algorithmic financing, especially their anthropological, epistemic and affective aspects. Relevant publications are “Beyond Personal Feelings and Collective Emotions: A Theory of Social Affect” and “Algorithmic Cultures. Essays on meaning, performance and new technologies”, together with Jonathan Roberge (Routledge 2016).
