Since March 2016 Kristin Klein supports the projects Post-Internet Arts Education (PIAE) and study.log as well as the new graphics team at the Institute for Art & Art Theory in the research area of Prof. T. Meyer. Kristin Klein studied cultural studies, German, art education and educational sciences at Humboldt University Berlin, Boston University and Dresden Technical University. During her studies she worked in the interdisciplinary research project SESAM (Software Engineering of Social and Ubiquitous Media) at the TU Dresden and was involved in the conception, implementation and evaluation of empirical studies on a new learning browser.
She gained a lot of practical experience in schools before and during her studies in various educational institutions in Germany, Finland and Ghana. Her main interests include art and education under current, late capitalist and media-cultural conditions, the Internet State of Mind, Immaterial Labor and Mixed Reality. As a member of the group Method Mandy, currently with Annemarie Hahn, Gila Kolb and Konstanze Schütze, and on the blog 8rly.com, which she runs together with Konstanze Schütze, she tests forms and formats of art educational and art theoretical speculation and action.
